Seven parties enter parliament, Poroshenko Bloc gets third of votes - survey

If the elections for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine were held next week, the largest number of votes would be garnered by the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko (33.5%), Oleh Liashko's Radical Party (12.8%) and People's Front (8.9%), according to a survey conducted by the Rating Sociological Group on October 1-8.

In addition, 7.8% of voters are ready to support Sergiy Tigipko's Strong Ukraine, 6.9% Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union, 5.4% Samopomich Union, and 5.1% of respondents would vote for the Opposition Bloc.

Anatoliy Hrytsenko's Civil Position (4.5%) and Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union (4%) would not overcome the 5% election threshold. Almost 2% of those polled would vote for the Right Sector Party, and over 5% would support other parties.

The survey showed that 35% of respondents would definitely take part in the parliamentary elections and that 40% would most likely go to the polls.

"The predicted voter turnout compared to June-July has decreased from 59% to 55%," the head of the group, Oleksiy Antypovych, said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

A total of 2,000 respondents aged over 18 were interviewed. The poll's margin of error does not exceed 2.2%.
