Ukrainians split in their assessment of Poroshenko's activity as president - poll

Some 48% of Ukrainians support the activity of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, and 44% disapprove it, according to a survey conducted by the Rating Sociological Group on October 1-8.

A total of 45% of respondents are satisfied with the activity of Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk, and 48% are dissatisfied with it.

"Compared with the survey for August, satisfaction in the assessment of the activity of the new government has dropped in all of its representatives," the group's chairman, Oleksiy Antypovych, said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

According to the poll, 35% of Ukrainians would like to see incumbent Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk as head of government after the upcoming parliamentary elections, 9% Strong Ukraine Party leader Sergiy Tigipko, 5% each Civil Position Party leader Anatoliy Hrytsenko and Radical Party leader Oleh Liashko, 4% each Batkivschyna Party leader, former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, and Samopomich Party leader, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy, and 3% Opposition Bloc representative Vadym Rabinovych.

The greatest trust among politicians in Ukraine is currently enjoyed by Poroshenko (51%), Yatseniuk (45%), Hrytsenko (42%) and Sadovy (40%). Liashko has significantly lost public trust (28% compared with 40% in August).
