Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko told German Chancellor Angela Merkel over the phone that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) had not yet provided unmanned aerial vehicles as previously agreed.

"The sides discussed the implementation by the OSCE of its functions to monitor and verify the bilateral ceasefire regime. In this context, President Poroshenko expressed concern that the OSCE had not yet provided unmanned aerial vehicles in accordance with tentative agreements," the Ukrainian leader's press service reported.

Poroshenko said at a press conference earlier that the first batch of OSCE drones needed to monitor the ceasefire and the withdrawal of heavy weapons in Ukraine's eastern regions would arrive in Ukraine on September 26.
