Donetsk has passed through the night calmly, without the hostilities or explosions, the City Council said in a report posted on its Web site.

"There have been no reports from citizens on possible incidents in their home districts by the morning of September 1," it said.

The Donetsk region department of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service said three shells hit residential buildings and structures in the past 24 hours. House No. 102 on Shestakova Street and the first aid station of the Trudivska mine in the Petrovsky district and an auxiliary structure in the backyard of House No. 28 on Vuhilna Street in the Kuibyshevsky district were damaged, the city authorities said.

"All was quiet in the city at 1000. Public utility and transport services were operating normally," the City Council reported.

Power supply to the northern water station was restored on Sunday, and Donetskmiskvodokanal resumed water supply to the Kyivsky district at 1800. As of now all water stations but that of the Donetsk State Chemical Plant, are operating steadily although the water supply is minimal. Alongside stabilization of the hydraulic regime in the city, Donetskmiskvodokanal is repairing the damage. Fifty damaged sections of water mains and more than 60 damaged sections of sewer mains were repaired last weekend.

Electric companies are repairing the damage in the Kirovsky, Kyivsky, Kuibyshevsky and Petrovsky districts.

Donetskmiskgaz specialists are restoring gas supply to apartment buildings and private homes. As of now, there is no gas supply to 5,265 Donetsk households.
