The UN has estimated the total number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine at 101,617 people, according to a report issued by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

"Currently the vast majority (86%) of IDPs are from the east, with UNHCR estimating the total to be 101,617 as of July 25 - an increase of more than 15,000 since the reporting period ended on July 15,"the press office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights reported, citing the fourth UN report, which covers the period from June 8 to July 15, 2014.

According to the report, while the Ukrainian authorities have now begun to provide resources and coordinate and plan better, a number of serious problems remain to be resolved.
