Hryniv appointed deputy head of presidential administration

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree appointing Ihor Hryniv deputy head of his administration

The decree was posted on the Web site of the head of state on Friday.

Hryniv was born in Lviv in 1961. He was a founder of the People's Movement of Ukraine and worked as an MP of the first, fourth, sixth and seventh convocations.

In 2003-2004, Hryniv served as deputy head of the central office of the Our Ukraine bloc and first deputy head of the election headquarters of presidential candidate Viktor Yuschenko.

From February to September 2005, he was director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies.

In 2006, he headed the election campaign of UDAR Party leader Vitali Klitschko in the Kyiv mayoral election.

In 2007-2012, Hryniv served as an MP of the sixth convocation from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc.

On June 18, 2014, Poroshenko signed a decree appointing Hryniv as his freelance adviser.
