NSDC has more evidence of Russia's sponsoring militants – spokesman

Ukraine has registered a range of unquestionable evidence that proves that Russia is actively supporting illegal armed formations, spokesman of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Andriy Lysenko has said.

"In particular, yesterday during a press conference in Donetsk, the leaders of the militants confirmed that they receive armored vehicles, artillery systems, antitank, anti-aircraft and small arms from Russia. We have reported this many times. Now the militants themselves have openly admitted it," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.

According to Lysenko, this shows that "Russia isn't making any effort to de-escalate situation in Donbas, and hampers the establishment of peace."

Moreover, he said that the terrorists in public announced that they are ready to pay 20,000 Russian rubles per month to those who are ready to enter their gangs.

"It proves that mercenaries fight against Ukrainian servicemen. But the number of volunteer supporters of the terrorist organizations among the Donbas population is constantly dropping," he said.
