OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Swiss President Didier Burkhalter on Tuesday called for the immediate release of the organization's employees who were captured in eastern Ukraine.

He said at a security conference in Vienna on Tuesday that the detention of members of the OSCE special monitoring mission in Donetsk and Luhansk was unacceptable and illegal.

This undermines efforts to overcome the crisis, he added.
