Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has dismissed Oleh Makhnitsky as acting prosecutor general of Ukraine following his request to resign.

A relevant of decree was posted on the president's Web site on Wednesday.

Poroshenko then appointed Makhnitsky to the post of his adviser.
