The United States is not planning to place missile defense systems in Ukraine and Georgia, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland has said.

"There are no plans to place missile defense systems in Georgia or in Ukraine, either now or in the future," she said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
