Acting Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has announced that former chief of the Interior Ministry's main department in Odesa region Dmytro Fuchedzhi, who was seen on the site of an incident in Odesa on May 2, has been put on the wanted list.

"Mr. Fuchedzhi at 05:00 in the morning crossed the Ukrainian border and fled from investigation, he's been put on the wanted list," Avakov told reporters at the airport of Kharkiv on Wednesday.

Three police officers were also detained as part of a pre-trial investigation of the Odesa case, he said.

"Three policemen have been detained by prosecutors, and they're now being transported to Kyiv for interrogation," Avakov said.

Fuchedzhi was deputy police chief in Odesa region for public security and was personally present downtown Odesa on May 2 during violent clashes between pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian activists, which resulted in heavy casualties.

After he was appointed acting police chief in Odesa region shortly after the May 2 incident, his subordinates freed earlier detained pro-Russian activists following an attack on the Odesa municipal police's building on May 4.
