Verkhovna Rada to hold closed meeting on May 6

A plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday will be held behind closed doors, the parliament's press service has reported.

The meeting will begin at 1000.

The press service also said that given the closed regime of the meeting journalists would be allowed to stay in the lobby on the third floor of the parliament building.

As reported, on April 29, interim President and Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov, while closing a parliamentary session in the form of public hearings on the discussion of amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, said that the parliament would hold a meeting on May 6 involving the heads of security agencies.

Previously, the initiative to hold an extraordinary plenary meeting behind closed doors and hear a report by the heads of security agencies was put forward by UDAR Party leader Vitali Klitschko.
