CEC registers 543 international official observers for presidential elections

The Ukrainian Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered 543 international official observers for the upcoming presidential elections, the commission's press service has reported.

The CEC at a meeting on April 30 registered 317 international official observers, including 179 from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, 26 from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, 20 from the Ukrainian World Congress, 51 from the World Congress Committee of America, four from the Canadian election observation mission (CANADEM), and 37 from the United States.

Thus, the total number of registered official observers is 543 people, 490 of them from six international organizations and 53 from four foreign countries.

The presidential elections in Ukraine are scheduled for May 25.
