Counter-terrorism operation in Sloviansk on hold because of threat of Russian intervention – media
All government buildings seized by separatists in the town of Sloviansk of Donetsk region were expected to be liberated by the end of the day, the KyivPost wrote on Thursday, quoting a high-ranking official in the government.
However, according to the source, the operation at the moment has been suspended, as the government will reformulate its plans in line with the latest reconnaissance data from the eastern border.
"According to Ukrainian reconnaissance, the risk of a crossing of the border by Russian troops has grown sharply," the Kyiv Post said.
The government also confirmed that in the result of the carried operation seven persons died.
"The separatists are in panic," the official told the Kyiv Post.
