The Netherlands has postponed a trade mission to Russia in view of the increased tensions around Ukraine, Dutch Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans reported.

"A successful mission under the current circumstances is not possible," he said on Wednesday.

The mission's visit was scheduled for May 2014.

The mission had intended to focus on energy and would have brought together high-level government officials and corporate executives from both countries.
