Ukrainian parliament passes law on amnesty

Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada passed a bill on amnesty in 2014 at an evening meeting on Tuesday.

The draft law stipulates pardoning convicts, who committed less than serious crimes and those, who are unprotected and socially vulnerable.

According to the bill, the amnesty applies to minors, parents of children below 18 years and disabled children.

A total of 231 out of 248 deputies have voted for passing the draft law.
