Ukrainian channels suspended in Crimea to be resumed after referendum – Crimean administration

1 min read

Ukrainian television channel broadcasts that have been suspended in Crimea will be able to resume their operation after the referendum, Rustam Temirhaliyev, first deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea, said.

"The suspension of these [Ukrainian] channel operations is temporary. These channels can be accredited in accordance with Russian legislation and continue operation on the territory of Crimea after the referendum and after the inclusion of Crimea into the Russian Federation," Temirhaliyev told a press conference on Wednesday.

Speaking about the reasons for this suspension, Temirhaliyev said the administration of Crimea had a problem with large-scale falsification of information by some Ukrainian television channels in Crimea.

"If we look at some Ukrainian television channels, there is large-scale falsification of the real events taking place in Crimea going on," he said.
