Rada decides to release political prisoners, including Pavlychenko family
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Monday decided to release political prisoners, including businessman Dmytro Pavlychenko and his son Serhiy, who were found guilty of killing Kyiv Shevchenkivsky District Court judge Serhiy Zubkov in the spring of 2011.
A total of 316 MPs supported the decision.
The list of released people includes a total of 23 persons.
The resolution took effect immediately.
As reported, Dmytro Pavlychenko was sentenced to life imprisonment and Serhiy Pavlychenko to thirteen years in prison.
On August 1 2013, the Kyiv Court of Appeals upheld the verdicts.
The father and son were active in the movement of Dynamo football club fans (Kyiv). Their release was demanded by fans of different football clubs.
