Lviv wants to buy 10 more used Skoda trolleybuses

Lvivelektrotrans municipal enterprise in Lviv plans to buy 10 used Czech Skoda 14Tr and 15Tr trolleybuses by the end of this year (or used analogs), according to a report in the Visnyk Derzhavnykh Zakupivel issued on Monday.

The company said that bids would be opened on March 14, 2013.

As reported, in late 2012, Lvivelektrotrans selected subsidiary enterprise Duox (Lviv) of Slovak Duox s.r.o. LLC to supply 30 similar trolleybuses worth UAH 10.5 million in 2013.

Lviv also plans to buy 100 new buses worth UAH 125.1 million and 50 trolleybuses worth UAH 95 million as a part of the city transport upgrade programs with funds borrowed and secured by the government.

The Skoda 14Tr, which is 11.3 meters long, can carry up to 105 people (29 seats). It has been produced since 1980 and has been popular in Ukraine, Russia, Baltic countries and other countries.

The Skoda 15Tr articulated trolleybus was created on the basis of the 4Tr. It is 17.2 meters long and can carry 150 people (44 seats). It was produced from 1986 to 2004. The service life of a trolleybus is 25 years.
