Progress in faction leaders' talks- Yanukovych's representative in Rada

1 min read

There has been some progress in the talks between Ukrainian senior parliamentarians and faction leaders, President's Representative to Verkhovna Rada Yuriy Miroshnychenko said.

"To date, tonight, I don't want to announce it, not being authorized to do so, since the negotiating process is still ongoing, but we are seeing signs of a path that would enable us to exit this situation … we have started moving forward," Miroshnychenko said on Channel 5 on Tuesday night.

The opposition representatives have approached the talks responsibly, the people's deputy said.

"And I want to note that our colleagues in the opposition are being responsible in this dialogue as well. They are not blackmailing, they are not walking out of the negotiating process. Just as members of the majority, they are trying to find a legal way to solve this problem," Miroshnychenko said.

The parliament can restore the people's trust in power solely by strict adherence to agreements, the president's representative to the parliament also said.

It was reported earlier that Ukrainian faction leaders and senior parliamentarians continued consultations over the return to the 2004 Constitution on Tuesday.
