Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has said that the European Union should not impose sanctions on Ukraine while a political dialogue on the settlement of the situation in the country is underway.

"While the dialogue continues in Ukraine, we should not apply sanctions under any circumstances," the Web site of the Polish foreign minister quoted him as saying in an interview with Austrian newspaper Die Presse.

Sikorski also said that it is possible to use the existing EU anti-corruption laws.

"All our countries are parties to the Convention on the Fight against Corruption, and we all have international obligations on combating money laundering. And all EU banks are obliged to verify the origin of funds of politically exposed persons," he said.
