Relatives of those killed in fire at Hartron plant to get UAH 100,000, says deputy PM

The families of those killed in a fire in the premises of the Kharkiv Jewelry Factory on the territory of PJSC Hartron will be paid financial aid, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul has said.

"There will be a special government decree, and the families of the victims will certainly receive assistance - about UAH 100,000 for each family," he told reporters in Kharkiv on Wednesday.

He added that the seven people who were injured in the fire were in an emergency hospital and had all the necessary medicines and qualified medical care.

As reported, eight people were killed in a fire that broke out at around 1130 on Wednesday in a five-story industrial building on the territory of the Hartron plant in Kharkiv. Twenty-two people were rescued. According to the press service of the State Service of Ukraine on Emergency Situations, the fire was extinguished at 1410.

The fire damaged 250 square meters on the 4th and 5th floors of the building. The cause of the fire and the damage are being established.
