Eight die in fire at Hartron plant in Kharkiv
Eight people were killed in a fire that broke out on Wednesday in a five-story industrial building on the territory of the Hartron plant at 1 Akademika Proskury Street in Kharkiv, the press service of the State Service of Ukraine on Emergency Situations has said.
The report of the fire came in at 1129 on January 8, the press service said.
The five-storey building on the territory of the plant was leased by Kharkiv Jewelry Factory.
Eight people were killed in the fire. Twenty-two were rescued.
At 1240 the fire was brought under control, and it is currently being put out.
The fire damaged 250 square meters on the 4th and 5th floors of the building, the emergencies service said.
The cause of the fire and the damage are being established.
