EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton is now meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Ashton's spokesperson Maya Kocijancic said on Twitter on Tuesday.

Ashton arrived in Kyiv on Tuesday due to the aggravated situation in Ukraine. According to earlier reports, Ashton intends to meet with Ukrainian government officials, opposition, and representatives of civil society.
