Ukraine's Security Service probing into state power seizure

Ukraine's Security Service main investigative department has opened a criminal case over actions aimed at the seizure of state power in the country.

"Ukraine's Security Service main investigative department is probing into actions committed in order to seize the state power. The information on certain politicians committing illegal actions aimed at state power seizure was submitted to the single registry of pre-trial investigations on December 8," the Security Service press office told Interfax-Ukraine.

The criminal case has been opened under Part 1of Criminal Code Article 109, actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order, which stipulates prison sentence of five to ten years.

According to the Ukrainian Criminal Code, the crime is related to basis of the country's national security.
