UHHRU stops cooperation with Ukraine's govt

1 min read

The Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union (UHHRU) has stopped its cooperation with the current government of Ukraine over the dispersal of a peaceful protest on Kyiv's Independence Square on November 30.

In its statement, the UHHRU says it is removing its representative from the Constitutional Assembly and is halting its participation in consultative bodies in the pubic councils created in the Ukrainian central and regional pubic administration bodies.

The UHHRU also said that it is creating a independent public commission to investigate the Ukrainian authorities' actions in Kyiv and other places during the Euromaidan and is inviting all human rights organizations and lawyers to work with this commission.
