1 min read

Several thousands of people rallied on Kyiv's Independence Square (Maidan) to demand the resignation of the government and the president as of noon on Thursday.

The situation on the square is calm and the people are keeping warm near water barrels, drinking tea, an Interfax correspondent has reported.

Military and tourist tents remain on the square, and the protesters are holding national flags, opposition flags, and EU flags.

The square remains barricaded. Wooden barricades are installed on Instytutska Street, and barricades made of remains of Christmas trees and pieces of metal and wood are installed on Horodetskoho Street on the side of the Trade Union House.

As for the situation on Bankova Street, where the Ukrainian presidential administration is located, several dozens of people, most of whom are carrying flags of the UDAR party, are now there.
