Protesters clash with police outside government building in Kyiv

Clashes between protesters opposing the current pause in Ukraine's European integration and the police started outside the building of the Cabinet of Ministers in Kyiv, tear gas has been used.

The scuffle between the police officers and protesters started after several hundred protesters, who are rallying outside the government, blocked the traffic along the Hrushevsky Street, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

The police officers forced the protesters back to the sidewalk. Activists holding the Svoboda flags sprayed gas at the uniform.

The officers of the Berkut police special unit then tightened their ranks outside the government building, they are wearing gas masks. Protesters are hurling various items at the police.

A number of police officers are carrying red cylinders, perhaps containing special-purpose substances.
