Yanukovych, Putin discuss relations of two countries in Moscow in frames of Vilnius Summit, says Ukraine's foreign ministry

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin at their meeting on November 9 in Moscow discussed relations between their countries ahead of the Vilnius Summit.

"Concerning the meeting, then I can just repeat that it was announced by the press services of the Ukrainian and Russian president's administrations: this meeting took place in Moscow, the parties discussed issues of trade-economic relations between two countries in the frames of the Vilnius Summit, which will be held in the end of this month," director of the information policy department of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry Yevhen Perebyinis said at the briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

"I know nothing about the participation of the representatives of the Ukraine's Foreign Ministry in these talks," Perebyinis told the journalists being asked whether there were Ukrainian diplomats at this meeting.

As reported, on November 9, the Ukrainian president made a working visit to Moscow to discuss trade and economic relations with the Russian president.

On November 11, the head of the Batkivschyna parliamentary faction, Arseniy Yatseniuk, said he intended to request information about alleged secret talks between Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin from Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara.

"I will request from the foreign minister specific information – what was the Ukrainian president doing for the second time in Russia, and what did he talk about with Russian President Putin," Yatseniuk said at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement.

He said that if Yanukovych and Putin held secret talks, this could be a reason for the impeachment of the president.
