Yanukovych appoints ex-governors of Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk regions as his advisors

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has appointed ex-governor of Ivano-Frankivsk region Mykhailo Vyshyvaniuk and ex-governor of Odesa regional Eduard Matviychuk as his advisers.

The president signed relevant decrees on Friday, November 8, according to his Web site.

Earlier on Friday, Yanukovych signed decrees to dismiss Vyshyvaniuk and Matviychuk from posts of heads of Ivano-Frankivsk and Odesa Regional State Administrations and to appoint Vasyl Chudnov and Mykola Skoryk to these posts, respectively.

Matviychuk, born in 1963, was appointed head of Odesa Regional State Administration in March 2010. Matviychuk is a member of the Party of Regions, and was member of Ukraine's parliament of fifth and sixth convocation. In 1989-1995, he worked as a senior inspector in Chop branch of customs service of Ukraine in Zakarpattia region. Matviychuk was president of FC Verkhovyna Uzhgorod from 1997-1998. He worked as chief editor of the Euro-Center newspaper in 2000-2002.

Vyshyvaniuk, born in 1962, was appointed as governor of Ivano-Frankivsk region in March 2010. He previously held this post from February 1997 to January 2005. In March 2013, Vyshyvaniuk said that he expected be dismissed from this post in 2017 when he turns 65.
