Party of Regions holding march commemorating Ukraine's liberation from Nazis in Kyiv

A nationwide march commemorating the 69th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation from the Nazi forces arranged by the Party of Regions started on Glory Square in Kyiv on Saturday.

Before the march, the participants laid flowers to the Eternal Glory Monument on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Party of Regions reported.

"Preliminary estimates show that over 20,000 people are taking part in the memorial march. The column is being led by Party of Regions First Deputy Chairman Volodymyr Rybak, Party of Regions Deputy Chairman Andriy Kliuyev, first deputy head of the Party of Regions parliamentary faction Mykhailo Chechetov, Kyiv City State Administration Head Oleksandr Popov, and also deputies from the Party of Regions faction," it said.

The march participants are carrying national flags, Party of Regions flags, tablets bearing the names of populated areas that the Red Army liberated in 1943-1944, banners saying 'I Remember! I am Proud!', 'Honor and Glory to Veterans!', 'We Won't Allow Rewriting History!', 'Fascism Won't Pass! To Europe Without Fascists!' and others.

A concert marking the anniversary started on European Square at 1100.
