The Pardons Commission under the President of Ukraine didn't consider at its Thursday sitting a petition of the European Parliament's mission of Pat Cox and Aleksander Kwasniewski regarding pardoning of Ukrainian ex-Premier Yulia Tymoshenko, First Deputy Justice Minister Inna Yemelyanova has said.

"This issue wasn't considered today. I don't know about this petition. I saw none of these petitions [about pardoning of Tymoshenko]," she told the journalists.

Chairman of the State Penitentiary Service Oleksandr Lisitskov said, in turn, that the commission reviewed on Thursday neither the petition of Cox-Kwasniewski, nor any other requests for the pardoning of the ex-premier.

The members of the commission said that its next sitting will take place in November, but the definite date hasn't been announced yet.

Earlier MP of the Party of Regions Serhiy Hrynevetsky told Interfax-Ukraine that the issue of a partial pardon of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will not be raised at a meeting of the Pardons Commission under the President of Ukraine on Thursday, because back in April it made its decision on the matter.

"On April 27, 2013, the Pardons Commission examined Tymoshenko's request for a pardon. Given the severity of the crime and the fact that Tymoshenko had served only a small part of the sentence passed by the court, the Commission found no grounds to submit an application for her pardon. Therefore, there is no reason to consider the issue of Tymoshenko's pardon again," he said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.
