The Crimean Council of Ministers and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) have signed a three-year memorandum of cooperation, the information policy department of the Crimean government has reported.

The memorandum was signed in Simferopol on Wednesday by Crimean Prime Minister Anatoliy Mohyliov and UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine Alessandra Tisot.

The document is aimed at strengthening the potential and increasing the effectiveness of the activity of executive and local government agencies on the implementation of the Crimean development strategy in the formation of civil society, the image of the autonomy and territorial marketing. Special attention is paid in the memorandum to cooperation in the field of attracting international technical assistance and investment as an effective tool for the development of Crimea as part of the state economic stimulation program for 2013-2014, which was drafted on the instruction of the Ukrainian president.

Mohyliov said that Crimea appreciates cooperation with the UNDP and invited Tisot to participate in the fourth International Black Sea Economic Forum, which began its work at the Livadia Palace in Yalta on October 24.

"We've established warm and friendly relations and implemented a number of successful projects. I'm sure that we have every chance of rapidly developing our cooperation in future," he said.

Tisot, in turn, thanked Mohyliov for support and assistance for the UNDP's work in Crimea.

"Our teams have established close cooperation. We're grateful for your cooperation, and we hope that our joint efforts will continue to be useful," she said.
