Turkey presents opportunities of medical tourism and recreation to Ukrainians

Turkey has presented to Ukrainians the opportunities of medical tourism, which foresees treatment and recreation.

Director for CIS at the Turkish Healthcare Travel Council (THTC) Yulia Khomych told Interfax-Ukraine that the association currently sends up to 20 people from Ukraine per month for treatment in Turkey.

She noted that patients pay for their treatment themselves, while the services of the council that coordinates and organizes the treatment of Ukrainian patients in Turkey are free.

Khomych said that the treatment of cancer is very popular in Turkey, as it is much cheaper than in Germany or Israel.

"Treatment in Turkey compared to Israel and Germany is definitely cheaper. For example, CyberKnife radiotherapy in Germany was offered to our patient for EUR 35,000, excluding accommodation. We proposed a more advanced technology of treatment for EUR 13,000 with guarantees and accommodation," she said.

She noted that Turkish doctors use advanced technology.

"Ukraine doesn't have some of the technologies that we use," she said.

Khomych also said that Turkish doctors provide their Ukrainian colleagues with an opportunity to improve their skills and monitor the treatment process.
