MP Hrynevetsky: Pardons Commission not to consider Tymoshenko issue on Thursday

The issue of a partial pardon of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will not be raised at a meeting of the Pardons Commission under the President of Ukraine on Thursday, because back in April it made its decision on the matter, MP Serhiy Hrynevetsky of the Party of Regions said.

"On April 27, 2013, the Pardons Commission examined Tymoshenko's request for a pardon. Given the severity of the crime and the fact that Tymoshenko had served only a small part of the sentence passed by the court, the Commission found no grounds to submit an application for her pardon. Therefore, there is no reason to consider the issue of Tymoshenko's pardon again," he said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.
