Ukrainian magazine in the CIS top-10 biggest printed brands – RBC ratings

Telenedelya has entered the ten biggest printed brands of the post-Soviet market. Rating was made by Russian news-agency RBC on the basis of TNS annual audience measurements data research in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Total analyzed more than 300 brands, the top 10 have been chosen under the highest audience indicators during the period of 2012-2013. Telenedelya was the only Ukrainian brand included in the top 10.

According to the Boris Lozhkin, President of UMH group (owns Telenedlya brand): “Experience of the Telenedelya launch has shown that a well thought-out business strategy can create a brand that can change the balance of power in the Russian media market and win a place among the leaders”.

UMH President reported that the vast majority of top-ten brands (8 of 10) are presented on the market of different countries. The only one exception are TV guides "Antenna - Telesem" and " TV Program” (№ 7), working exclusively in the Russian market. The other editions have both Russian and Ukrainian versions with local autonomous editions.

Among the ten participants of the RBC rating is the only two newspapers - the daily tabloid "Komsomolskaya Pravda » (№ 4) and weekly "Arguments and Facts” (№ 2) with concept that is close to the generally accepted definition of the world's newspapers for serious readers - quality press.

In general, among the top-10 leaders are still the editions grown up from the Soviet press (see table) - "Antenna – Telesem" (№ 1), " Arguments and Facts" (№ 2) and the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" (№ 4), the magazine "Driving" (№ 3). These brands have obvious advantages - high brand awareness, quality journalism school, diversified business structure and a high level of confidence can produce content in demand in the market and provide a significant share in the total readership.

In the woman glossy segment international brands holds the strongest positions. In the ranking - two international projects, both addressed to a female audience - Cosmopolitan (№ 5, Hearst) and «Lisa” (№ 10, Burda). Both brands have entered the market first and continue to be leaders in terms of audience in their segments.
