Shakhtar reports $166 m in revenues for 2012/2013 season

The revenues of FC Shakhtar Donetsk for the 2012/2013 season amounted to $166 million, the club's director general, Serhiy Palkin, has said.

"I think that it's a good tool to meet UEFA's financial fair play requirements. If someone wants to see the said amount in more detail, the club will release a report for the 2012/2013 season on October 4, in which everyone will find all of the information about our revenues, and not only that," he wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

Last season Shakhtar won the Ukrainian Premier League, the Ukrainian Cup and reached the Champions League round of 16.

According to the well-known German portal Transfermarkt, Shakhtar spent EUR 67 million on strengthening the team in the summer season and earned EUR 67.5 million. The club's most expensive acquisition was the purchase of Brazilian midfielder Bernard from Atletico Mineiro for EUR 25 million. EUR 15 million was spent on the purchase of his compatriot Fred from Internacional. The club also paid EUR 11 million for the transfer of another Brazilian Fernando from Gremio. At the same time, Shakhtar earned EUR 40 million from Brazilian Fernandinho's transition to Manchester City and EUR 27.5 million from Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan's transfer to Borussia Dortmund.
