UDAR Party leader Vitali Klitschko has congratulated Ukrainians on Independence Day.

"Today the task of every citizen of Ukraine is to fill the independence of our state with real content and make every effort to develop a new, prosperous European country. We will make Ukraine a state in which human rights and freedoms are respected, there is the rule of law, and people are a major value," the party's press service quoted Klitschko as saying on Saturday.

He said that Independence Day is an occasion to feel pride and strength for new achievements and victories in the struggle for a democratic and prosperous Ukraine.
