Limited liability company Electrolux Ukraine (Ivano-Frankivsk) plans to agree with engineering companies in Ivano-Frankivsk city and region to produce spare parts for washing machines and refrigerators, reads an announcement of the company on the selection of partners for cooperation.

The head of the economic and integration development department at Ivano-Frankivsk city executive committee, Bohdan Bilyk, told Interfax-Ukraine that at present, Electrolux Ukraine supplies spare parts for washing machines from Europe. Time and money is spent on their customs clearance and the city budget returns the money with delays. In addition, he said that spare parts often become damaged during shipping on Ukrainian roads, and the company has to repair them.

The production of spare parts in Ukraine will allow the company to reduce the time for their delivery and save its own funds, Bilyk said.

He said that Electrolux Ukraine is even ready give two spare part production lines to a future Ukrainian partner company.

As reported, Sweden's Electrolux is to launch the manufacture of refrigerators at its factory in Ivano-Frankivsk.

Electrolux Ukraine was registered in Ivano-Frankivsk on September 7, 2010.

Since April 1, 2011, a factory to produce washing machines in Ivano-Frankivsk has been working under Electrolux's direct management (production and sales included).

The acquisition by Electrolux of an Ivano-Frankivsk-based washing machine factory from Italy's Antonio Merloni was approved by Ukraine's Antimonopoly Committee in October 2010. The deal was estimated to be worth EUR 19 million.

The acquisition has let Electrolux expand its presence on the East European development markets. The factory manufactures washing machines under the Electrolux and Zanussi brands.
