Ukraine is not changing its European integration vector despite the signing of a memorandum on deepening cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission and Ukraine, the government's commissioner for European integration, Valeriy Piatnytsky, has said.

"I personally have no doubt that we are really moving towards the EU, towards a deeper integration with it. I'm not talking about membership of the EU, because today we are talking about our place on the large European market. That's why we are signing this agreement in order to introduce proper rules of the presence of Ukrainian products on the [EU] market and European products on the Ukrainian market. This, in fact, is a higher level of civilization, because in this case we will be even more interesting to Russia and other countries in the world," Piatnytsky said live on Channel 5 on Thursday.

As reported, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov is expected to sign a memorandum on deepening cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Commission and Ukraine in Minsk on May 31 at a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government.
