Ukraine's observer status in Customs Union won't affect association agreement with EU, says Azarov

Awarding observer status in the Belarusian-Kazakh-Russian Customs Union to Ukraine will not affect the signature of the Association Agreement with the European Union scheduled for November, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.

Ukraine's observer status in the Customs Union will be discussed at a Customs Union summit in Astana on May 29, Azarov said on Facebook on Friday.

"We hope for a positive settlement of this issue. In case of the presidents' positive decision, a relevant agreement will be signed, and this will have no effect on the signature of the Association Agreement with the EU planned for November," he said.
