Odesa City Council has taken a decision on the approval with new wording of the structure of executive government agencies, and the total number of employees of Odesa City Council and its executive government agencies, which also envisages the creation of the department for the EuroBasket 2015 European Basketball Championship.

In addition, the city council created the department for domestic policy, the department for applications of citizens, as well as the department for analytics and control. It was also decided to reorganize into the departments three divisions of the city council: on health, on the environment and the development of recreational areas, and on education and science.

According to the text of the decision, the city council also joined the Odesa city division of land resources to the department for municipal ownership at Odesa City Council, which is currently controlled by Ivan Pozniakov, a colleague of Odesa Mayor Oleksiy Kostusev.

At a meeting on Tuesday the deputies also increased the total number of employees of the executive government agencies of Odesa City Council, to 1,500. The city council earlier included more than 1,400 people.

As reported, on December 18, 2011 Ukraine received the right to host the European Basketball Championship in 2015.

Donbass Hockey Club Ltd. (Donetsk), Donetsk-Basket Ltd. (Donetsk) and United Basketball Investments Ltd. (Kyiv) were declared the winners of a tender for the construction of basketball facilities in cities that could host the European basketball championship in 2015.
