UDAR MPs prevent voting by card of deputy absent from Kyiv City Council
People's deputies from the UDAR parliamentary faction have come to Kyiv City Council on Thursday to watch the process of voting there in order to prevent cases when deputies vote by cards that do not belong to them.
UDAR's press service said on Thursday that the MPs have passed to Secretary of Kyiv City Council Halyna Hereha the voting card of deputy Oleksandr Pabat, who was absent from the sitting, while his colleagues tried to vote by his card.
"UDAR supports individual voting in the parliament, as well as city councils. Why did we, people's deputies, come here today? Because we are standing for the principle of individual voting everywhere. And Kyiv City Council will consider a lot of important land issues today. So we insist that deputies have to vote individually, so that the capital could know all of its 'heroes' by name," UDAR MP Valeriy Karpuntsov said at Kyiv City Council.
