Ukrainian premier declares over UAH 380,000 worth of income for 2008

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has declared UAH 386,170 worth of income for 2008, according to her income declaration, which has been published by the Ukrayinska Pravda online news site.

All of her income last year was from her salary. Her average monthly salary totaled UAH 32,000 last year. Tymoshenko refused any financial aid usually paid before taking leave.

According to her income declaration, the premier does not have a flat, car, or a deposit account.

According to Tymoshenko's declaration of income gained in 2007, she significantly improved her financial position in 2008, because in 2007, she earned only UAH 6,800 each month.

Her husband, Oleksandr Tymoshenko, is considered to be the only member of her family, as her daughter is already married and lives separately.

In 2008, Oleksandr Tymoshenko earned UAH 2.798 million worth of revenue from entrepreneurship, whereas in 2007, his overall income totaled UAH 3.5 million.

He has a 52-square-meter flat, owns a 25-square-meter office, and a Toyota car. Last year, he spent UAH 75,000 on house maintenance.

The husband of the Ukrainian premier has bank deposits of UAH 82,899, and also has UAH 2,500 worth of securities abroad.

However, the declaration does not make any mention of the villa in Koncha-Zaspa where Yulia Tymoshenko lives.

Ukrayinska Pravda recalled that the premier said earlier that she rents a house. But neither she nor her husband, according to the declaration, paid any money under rental agreements last year.
