Khoroshkovsky says introduction of Electronic Customs is a priority in creation of positive business environment in Ukraine

The development of the Electronic Customs multifunctional integrated system facilitates the introduction of European standards in the reform of customs procedures and improves cooperation between the customs authorities of Ukraine, Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister Valeriy Khoroshkovsky has said.

"We're improving cooperation between the customs authorities. Electronic Customs is a priority in the creation of a positive business environment in Ukraine. We are focusing on the standards of the European Union in the reform of customs procedures. I emphasize that European integration is not only a foreign policy priority for us, but also internal modernization," he said at a meeting of the heads of customs agencies in Kyiv on Thursday.

Khoroshkovsky also said that Ukraine planned to speed up the reform of the customs service in line with European standards.

"Ukraine is part of a global trading system... We adopted a new Customs Code that simplifies customs procedures and reduces the influence of the human factor. European standards are becoming our reality slowly, but confidently," he said.
