Ukraine invites Azerbaijan to participate in Viking train project
Ukraine has invited Azerbaijan to participate in the Viking combined train project.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov issued the invitation during a meeting with Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade in Baku.
"We invite Azerbaijan to take part in this project," Azarov said.
He said that it would allow Azerbaijan to gain access to new routes to the markets of Belarus, Lithuania and other European countries.
The Viking combined transport train started operating in 2003. The train goes through Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania and unites a chain of marine container and piggyback lines of the Baltic region with the same system of the Black, Mediterranean and Caspian Seas. Its route length is 1,753 kilometers.
