Govt resumes state program for compensation for buying domestic agricultural machinery - Svyrydenko

The Cabinet of Ministers has resumed the program of partial compensation for the purchase of Ukrainian-made agricultural machinery, for which UAH 1 billion is included in the 2024 state budget, said First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko.

“During the presentation of the Made in Ukraine policy in Chernihiv region, chaired by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, I signed an order to include the products of a number of manufacturers in the list of domestically produced agricultural machinery and equipment, the cost of which is partially compensated from the budget,” she wrote on Facebook on Monday.

The first deputy prime minister recalled that farmers could purchase equipment from these manufacturers included in the register and receive compensation for it up to 25% of the cost.

Svyrydenko expressed confidence that this state program will significantly revive the engineering industry. According to her, this is not just a forecast, but also the experience of previous periods. The share of Ukrainian products in the domestic market doubled over the period 2017-2021 due to the created demand and price advantage. Production volume increased from 5,000 to 12,000 units, of which half were exported.

According to her, there are currently 21 manufacturers in the register, which offer 964 equipment items - from plows to complex self-propelled equipment and equipment for processing sunflower and rapeseed seeds.

As new applications are received, the list will expand, the minister promised and added that applications to include machinery and equipment in the list can be submitted until October 31.

“I am convinced that this program will help support both machine builders and farmers in the most difficult time for them,” she summed.
