Govt asks NBU to allow VF Ukraine, DTEK, Metinvest, Interpipe and Kernel to make payments on eurobonds from Ukraine

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appealed to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) with a request to allow the sale of currency to large Ukrainian companies and holdings and its further transfer for settlements on eurobonds and with Western creditors.

The corresponding applications for individual permits for cross-border transfers of currency values are formalized by orders Nos. 118-132 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated February 6 and 13, posted on the government website.

The list of companies and holdings for which the Cabinet of Ministers is asking includes VF Ukraine (the second largest mobile operator under the Vodafone Ukraine trademark) and companies from the Interpipe pipe and wheel holding, the largest mining and metallurgical holding Metinvest, the Kernel agricultural holding and three DTEK holdings, including DTEK Energy, DTEK Renewables and DTEK Oil&Gas.

The attached documents note, in particular, that such decisions will help maintain investor confidence, save companies, many of which are the largest exporters, foreign currency and ensure their more efficient and stable operation in the future.
