Overhaul of well in country's north ensures daily flow rate of over 60,000 cubic meters of gas – Ukrnafta

PJSC Ukrnafta carried out a major overhaul of a well in the north of the country, which made it possible to ensure daily natural gas flow to more than 60,000 cubic meters of gas, as well as to reach new prospects for additional exploration of deposits.

"The preliminary estimated flow rate after workover is more than 60,000 cubic meters of natural gas per day," Ukrnafta Director Serhiy Koretsky, said quoted on the company's website on Monday.

As the company reported, the overhaul team carried out geophysical work to determine the saturation of the new deposit and disconnected the mined-out lower horizon.

At a depth of 2,317-2,322 meters, perforation work was carried out to connect the deposit with the well, after which the company began developing the well.

The deposit has dimensions of 2 square kilometers, with a thickness of 35.4 meters and a thickness of the productive part from 2 to 7 meters. It was initially estimated at 199 million cubic meters of gas and 70,000 tonnes of condensate. These reserves were not developed industrially.

"Now, having received good results after workover, we can say with confidence: the resource is there, so the company plans to develop it," Ukrnafta said.

Ukrnafta is the largest oil producing company in Ukraine, operating a national network of filling stations of 537 stations, of which 456 are operating.

The largest shareholder of Ukrnafta is NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy with a share of 50% + 1 share. On November 5, 2022, the headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to transfer to the state the corporate rights of the company that belonged to private owners, which is now managed by the Ministry of Defense.
