Zelenskyy signs law increasing state budget by over UAH 322 bln in 2023

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law (draft bill No. 10038) amending the Law of Ukraine on the state budget of Ukraine for 2023 regarding financial support for the security and defense sector and resolving priority issues.

According to the explanatory note attached to the draft law, expenses of the state budget general fund will increase by UAH 322.6 billion for the current year.

In particular, it is planned to increase spending on national security and defense in the amount of almost UAH 303 billion, of which - for the Ministry of Defense - UAH 211 billion, the Ministry of Internal Affairs - UAH 79.2 billion, the Security Service - UAH 4.2 billion, the Ministry of Strategic Industries - UAH 4.3 billion, the Main Intelligence Agency - UAH 2.5 billion, the State Special Communications Service - UAH 570.2 million, the Foreign Intelligence Service - UAH 500.8 million, as well as the State Security Department - UAH 230.5 million.

It also provides for an increase in state budget expenditures for the Ministry of Social Policy - UAH 16.5 billion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - UAH 1.3 billion, the Ministry of Education and Science - UAH 572.8 million, the Economic Security Bureau - UAH 315.2 million, the Cabinet Secretariat - UAH 289.6 million, the Ministry of Justice - UAH 91.2 million, the National Academy of Medical Sciences - UAH 53.5 million, the State Property Fund - UAH 43 million, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources - UAH 30.5 million, the Ministry of Finance - UAH 21 million, and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy - UAH 18.4 million.
